Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Project management, supporting the team, moderating research, admin and compliance, communicating with others in the company and to external agencies.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I would like to think I was given a lot more responsibility than your average internship/placement. They test you at Haleon, but at a comfortable and manageable pace. I feel like I'll be leaving the placement with more than I expected.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have developed my skills on Excel and other Microsoft applications. Furthermore, my communication skills, specifically when speaking to an audience, has improved dramatically. I have learnt skills in moderating interviews and research, as well as dealing and communicating effectively with agencies and other external individuals/groups. Stretching from this, my IT skills and website development has been honed.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
My team was very supportive. Not only was my manager considerate of my time, but so were the other colleagues I worked with. They helped balance my personal and work concerns, and always had advice or an answer to every questions I had. I never felt like I couldn't ask them something, no matter how small or silly it might seem.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Atmosphere amongst my team was amazing. Atmosphere amongst the company was good. However, I feel this stems primarily from the pandemic as the flexible working mean't not many were in the office. Although, the company held plenty of events to socialise with others.

I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. The introduction was great, and my mood towards the job has continued to stay positive to this point of time.

What advice would you give to others applying to Haleon
Over-prepare. I like to think I was considered for this job because of my extensive research into the company culture from employees I connected with on social media, as well as the research I did on the demerger from GSK and other company events. Also research into healthcare, but not too much. Only the things relevant to your role.
