Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Managing the running of clinical trials in the hospital including document managing, data entry, and ensuring up to date training and regulatory requirements
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given full responsibility for a number of trials and acted with the same job role as coordinators minus a few tasks that I was not trained in but was given experience like setting up studies at the hospital

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
My line manager was incredibly helpful, always pushing me to take advantage of training opportunities and would help me with whatever questions I had through my time there.
The team in general had a lot of experience in roles I would be interested and did similar degrees so they were helpful to talk to as well.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Open, inviting, immediately made me feel part of the team. Wider hospital also focused a lot on well being, they had free yoga sessions to book onto, a dedicated staff page for things we could use for staff wellbeing and a lot of things I didn’t get the chance to explore but new they were there if needed

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
Thoroughly enjoyed it and have gone back part time with the intention of perusing a full time job in the future as an option.
Found it gave a lot of insight to research careers and gave a more practical application to academic writing and protocols. Also gave me a chance to apply some of the theory I had on oncology to real situations
