In this apprenticeship I had a lot of fun learning and spending time with all different roles within operations. getting hands on experience that is very different from my previous job.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

There is so many different parts that you spend time with and you learn so much interesting information.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I am young and right out of college so every skill I learnt was new and has supported me with my normal day to day life outside of work too.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very good but some parts still need some improvements but they are very open to critiques so they listen if there is any support that is needed. here is quite a bit of travel involved in the apprenticeship but worth it in the end.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received a lot of support with me being very anxious at the beginning and they have helped me build my confidence on the job and helped me find my best way of learning.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

There are progress reviews often where you talk about what you have learnt and if there is any support required which they help with wherever they can.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

This apprenticeship allows you to visit all different roles within operations that you get an understanding and appreciation for how they all work together to helps trains run smoothly and effectively.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are volunteering opportunities and time where you get to learn when it doesn't feel like it, I got to rid on a steam train and learn a bit of the history and have fun at the same time

You explore so much in the company and allows you to find what role may be best for you at the end of it.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Network Rail?
You will be learning and revising a lot but make sure you take time to yourself as well away from the learning.
