I have developed my analytical skills, which has helped me better understand and assess information provided by clients, rather than simply taking it at face value. I have also developed my verbal communication skills, particularly when speaking with clients to ask further questions, clarify information and explain things in more detail.

I received a lot of support and guidance throughout my placement year. I was assigned both a buddy and people leader who I could approach with any questions/concerns and they always available for support. In addition, my wider team were also very approachable and more than willing to offer their help and guidance whenever needed.

The Company culture was amazing and really made everyone feel included throughout the year. There was always a variety of networking and community events taking place that everyone could get involved in such as community quizzes or events held by different networks such as Deloitte's Black Network who held a Black History event. These events were a great way to meet people from different divisions across the company, build relationships and feel part of the wider community.

I enjoyed my time during my placement year as it gave me the opportunity to gain a clearer understanding of what being an auditor involves and what the roles entails on a day-to-day basis. I developed a strong understanding of the different stages of an audit and the requirements involved at each stage. This practical experience has given me greater confidence in my skills and knowledge and has helped me feel well prepared to re-enter the corporate world once I graduate.
