Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I was a quant strat on the fixed Income desk. My role involved building software to meet the requirements of the quant traders.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, and it was a great part of it. I was able to work on a project end to end with another intern and deploy it into production so it can be used by the equivalent stakeholders.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Many skills, both in the software sense (good practices, new technologies) but also when it comes to my finance knowledge, as I had to be able to communicate with the quant traders daily.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

My team was amazing, I received a lot of support from both my teams and HR, and any other relevant teams. There were also drop in sessions to ask and questions and get help. My manager was also always helpful and really guided me with questions and learning throughout.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Great culture. Friendly people always open to talk to, and atmosphere was positive. People enjoyed doing what they do here and were always open to answering questions and having chats.
