Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Everyday was different as sometimes I worked from home and sometimes I worked from the office or client site. I worked on multiple different clients through the year, getting exposure to planning, interim and year end stages. I was given the chance to work closely with the client and received lots of support from my team to help me develop. I enjoyed testing different account balances and learning about the intricacies of each.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I was responsible for specific areas that were allocated to me on the workplan. This often involved communicating with the client. Although I did often work independently, support was available when I needed it.

I received support whenever I was starting a new task and members of my team were always happy to answer questions. This meant I was able to learn a lot and develop my skills.

Everyone was very supportive and friendly. Everyone remembered what it was like to be new and were happy to help.

What advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte

My advice would be to apply early and engage with early careers opportunities. I got my return offer for my placement from doing Spring into Deloitte in my first year of university. My placement year led to a return offer from a graduate role.
