Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Working as a placement student within the Banking an Capital Markets Division. Involves working on Excel, holding client calls, meetings. Working with a variety of personnel and a large team. Being in the office 3 times a week.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was part of a client from September to March and worked during a busy season. Working long hours and leaving the office in the early morning. Given responsibility to manage parts of the audit file and complete work on time and well.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
My team provided excellent advice and getting set up on work was always done well where I could take notes and feel free to ask the other person for advice.
Training was also frequent with Jump-In Days occurring every couple months out of office on another site.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Dependant on what the team is and what members of the team go out.
Placement students are very nice with the graduates and the December Graduates joining later was a nice addition to the culture.
Office Christmas Party's were fun with social oppurtunities varying mainly due to the business area you choose to select.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
Really enjoyed the placement.
Learned so many unique skills and experiences which I would have not got elsewhere.
Learned to work through really high pressure situations and manage the stress accordingly.
Competent technically on Excel and able to transfer these skills all across the industry.
Grew in confidence, working with people of all ages and of all experiences allowed me to become more confident in owning my work and overtime allowed me to go and help others as well.

What advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte
Doesn't matter necessarily on your level of prior experience.
You can learn fast on the job and interacting and being in the office is much better than WFH since you get to interact with people a lot more.
Also, asking for help is much easier since you can approach someone as opposed to awaiting on a teams response.
