As a Support Worker
I provide high-quality, person-centred care to individuals with diverse physical, mental and complex health needs, promoting their dignity, independence and wellbeing. My responsibilities include assisting with personal care, monitoring vital signs such as blood glucose, administering and recording medications, supporting PEG feeding, maintaining accurate electronic care records, and recognising and escalating changes in health. I work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families and healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective care. I also mentor colleagues, coordinate daily care activities, ensure compliance with safeguarding and infection prevention standards, and contribute to positive patient outcomes.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my NVQ Level 3 programme to a great extent. It has increased my knowledge, skills and confidence in delivering safe, person-centred care. The programme has helped me better understand safeguarding, communication, infection prevention and control, health and safety, and professional responsibilities. I particularly enjoy applying what I learn in my daily role as a Support Worker, as it enables me to provide higher-quality care and support positive outcomes for the people I care for. Overall, the programme has been valuable for my professional development and has prepared me for greater responsibilities and future career progression within health and social care.
