Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Network Rail?

Been amazing, had a great supportive team of people from the apprentice & graduate team to an amazing line manager, mentor, etc who have all been looking out for me and there for me along the way.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

As a graduate you’re on a 2 year scheme where you get to go around different teams including but not limited to track maintenance, track asset management and track renewals. Picking up what they do and how different departments of NR interface and function. In these placements you pick up tasks, actions and objectives alongside having quarterly reports to fill out for your desired Chartership route institution.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

You pick up tasks, actions and objectives for each placement along the way which you get to own, manage and champion allowing for contribution and feel valued by the teams.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

Great benefits, do wish there was more for Eurostar discounts but there is a great variety from lifestyle such as gym to healthcare such as private healthcare to travel discounts 75% off, etc.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

Allows you to build a great strong foundation where you pick up a lot that across various areas and disciplines.
Prepares you very well for future roles.

Had an amazing support team from the apprentice & graduate team, line manager, mentor, etc. That always was there to help and lend an ear and hand no matter what.
