Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role was mainly testing account balances, arranging and conducting meetings with clients to track the progress of the audit and gain clarification on pending queries. I took part in the entire audit process from planning and testing to concluding whilst I was at the firm.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given a lot of responsibility, I was encouraged to speak with the client firsthand and was given responsibility over specific audit areas, which were important parts of the process.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Excel skills, organisation skills, time management skills and client interaction skills. The placement gave me the opportunity to learn both new and existing skills. Deloitte were very encouraging when it came to training and learning new skills.

There was lots of support during my placement, including consistent check ins with my buddy and my manager, who would help me with any problems I had.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I would say 3.8/5 - I learnt a lot and this will certainly help me in my career, that said it could be quite boring and repetitive in audit.
