Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Network Rail?

Really positive! Everyone has been really nice and they are eager to teach me what they know.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

I have done placements with the performance team, analysing data for platform berthing times. I've also worked at Glasgow Central Station shadowing management and working on the concourse. I've also completed training to become a signaller.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

Every team I have been in I've done work that has impacted them and helped them moving forward even after I have left.

I am always learning new things about the railway and then implementing them in my different placements

We have buddy systems set up as soon as we join and my line manager is always available to help out and listen to our concerns.

I work consistent hours and have plenty of time to rest

Everyone is welcoming and kind and I've not met anyone who doesn't have an inclusive vibe

It is a great company where everyone helps each other and wants to succeed. Also, the work you do impacts real lives and helps make a difference, which makes me feel good about the time I spend at work
