Technology Consulting Summer Intern Review

I worked as a Summer Intern within EY's Technology Consulting practice, supporting both internal innovation initiatives and client-facing prototype development. My role involved researching business challenges, designing and building AI-powered solutions, creating consulting-style presentations and demonstrations, and collaborating with colleagues across different teams.
On a day-to-day basis, I attended project meetings, gathered requirements from stakeholders, developed prototypes using tools such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate and Power Platform, created PowerPoint presentations and supporting documentation, tested and refined solutions based on feedback, and presented progress updates to team members. I also completed professional development activities, including training courses, networking events and workshops, while learning about consulting methodologies and technology delivery within a large professional services organisation.

Yes, I was given a significant level of responsibility throughout my internship. Rather than only observing project work, I was trusted to contribute directly to the development of several prototypes and deliverables. I took ownership of features within AI-powered solutions, created materials used in demonstrations and project discussions, coordinated feedback from stakeholders, and presented my work to colleagues and mentors.
I was also responsible for managing my own workload, prioritising tasks across multiple projects, seeking clarification when required, and incorporating feedback into my work. This level of responsibility allowed me to develop both my technical skills and my confidence in communicating with clients and colleagues in a professional environment.

I really enjoyed my internship and found it to be a valuable experience.
