Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As an FSO Audit Intern, I supported a range of audit activities across the planning and execution phases of engagements. My day-to-day work included performing testing, analysing supporting documentation and using Excel. I also assisted with engagement administration in EY Canvas, prepared meeting minutes and action trackers for meetings, and supported wider team priorities such as resource planning. Alongside engagement work, I had online training courses to complete.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes. I was assigned tasks on the engagement which added value and joined team discussions and meetings.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Learned how to navigate and use EY's audit platform, Canvas. Developed my Excel skills, using tools such as DataSnipper. Developed my skills in taking meeting notes and summarising action points, as well as using Copilot efficiently to speed up such processes. With regards to soft skills, the internship definitely improved my communication and team work.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very friendly and welcoming from the get-go. As a summer intern I was told by my team and manager to log off when it hit 5pm. I was able to sit with other interns or with my team and enjoyed doing both.
