Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I work in the indirect tax team and work on several projects. It can involve simple but important filings, to organising and manipulating data from large Excel spreadsheets. Lots of meetings with clients and communicating complex information.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I get exposure to a wide range of work involving different industries. I was able to sit in on client meetings, draft emails to partners and clients and use large spreadsheets.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

My Excel skills have definitely developed, as I've had to combine technical details in legislation with tricky Excel formulas. My professional proficiency has definitely improved, as well as my time management and confidence.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed it, the work challenged me whilst not being ridiculously hard which I liked. The work environment was good too and I believe I was paid fairly.
