Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Mornings were cleaning animal enclosures and doing foods and water. Afternoon was variable and could involve further deep cleaning or animal behaviour sessions.

Yes much of the work was independent.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Never worked in a farm setting before, was able to apply my theoretical animal behaviour knowledge, and apply it in a practical setting. I developed skills in animal handling for various species, including hoof stock, avian, and small mammals.

Ask for help if you need it! You’re there for the animals benefit so if you don’t know how to do something just double check. Advocate for time to do scheduled tasks such as the behaviour enrichment part.
