Summer Intern Review

Analysing broker premiums and undertook competitor analysis, presented to line manager.
Using software such as Salesforce to update broker pipeline and facilities to assist the BD team.
Creating reports on broker feedback surveys to be presented by seniors in team meeting.
Assisting the Claims team with examining broker feedback and claims submitted by clients.
Participating in various insurance skills workshops, networking sessions and training events.

I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility during my internship. I had enough responsibility while working on independent tasks to allow me to develop my understanding of the industry and build my skills. However, many of the tasks I was given were not necessarily challenging or complex. I often worked on simple tasks with minimum responsibility.

I developed a variety of skills. I improved my communication skills by constantly interacting with team members and colleagues, both orally and in writing. I also enhanced my team-working abilities through cooperating with a fellow intern in my department and working together on projects.

I definitely had plenty of support and guidance during my internship. My manager was always welcoming and happy to help with any questions I had or tasks that I struggled with. I had weekly catch up meetings with my manager so I never felt lost or confused. The HR team were also very willing to assist with any queries and address any issues.

Overall the culture was very warm, welcoming and friendly. There was a relaxed atmosphere most of the time with a lot of collaboration and interaction between team members. Everyone was approachable and willing to help even during busy periods. The HR team and my manager kindly organised social events and took us out for drinks and lunch too!

Thoroughly enjoyed my time at LSM. Great development opportunity and valuable experience to help me with my future career.
