Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Working as an IT Audit- being able to check various controls for various companies to ensure they meet the regulations and any discrepancies are dealt with. Joining meetings/walkthroughs and learning how a real Auditor does their job.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

You are given three clients (1 per each week during your internship) where, depending on the client you receive, you either have a little less work to do or get to help out more. You get to be independent but also ask for help whenever needed.

Whenever you needed help, there was always someone there happy to help you- whether this was a buddy or somebody else in your team. You weren't left alone!

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Very friendly, everybody was very social and willing to learn more about you and with anything you'd like to know about them and/or the company itself. There wasn't a single moment where you felt alone.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I absolutely loved it, it allowed me to see a new perspective of business mixed with Technology. Getting to go through various controls and with different clients each week brought a lot of variety and you always had something to do, whether it was going to socials with your team, working, or literally anything else.

Don't be scared to apply even if you don't think you'd meed their requirements or that this might not be for you, when you get to physically do the job you realise how great it actually is.
