Social Impact Assistant Review

As an FC Social Impact Intern at EA SPORTS, I support the delivery of initiatives that use football to create positive social impact through the FC FUTURES programme. My role involves coordinating projects with internal teams and external partners, helping to deliver campaigns, events and community activations.
On a day-to-day basis, I attend cross-functional meetings, track project timelines, communicate with stakeholders, prepare presentations and reports, and help manage the delivery of creative assets. I also support campaign planning, coordinate logistics for events and content shoots, and analyse campaign performance to identify key insights. The role requires strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills, as I often work across multiple projects while collaborating with teams such as marketing, communications, partnerships and creative.

Yes, I was given a significant amount of responsibility throughout my internship. From early on, I was trusted to manage my own workload and contribute to key projects that had a real impact on the FC FUTURES programme. Rather than simply observing, I was actively involved in coordinating campaigns, communicating with stakeholders, preparing presentations, tracking project progress and supporting the delivery of events and activations.
I was encouraged to take ownership of tasks, share my ideas and work independently, while also collaborating with colleagues across different teams. Being given this level of responsibility helped me build confidence, improve my organisational and communication skills, and gain a genuine understanding of how large-scale marketing and social impact initiatives are delivered within a global company like EA.

During my internship, I developed a wide range of professional skills. My project management and organisational skills improved significantly as I learned to prioritise multiple deadlines, coordinate tasks across different teams and keep projects on track. I also strengthened my communication skills by working with colleagues and external partners, presenting ideas in meetings and adapting my communication style for different audiences.
In addition, I developed my stakeholder management and teamwork skills by collaborating with people from various departments, including marketing, creative and partnerships. I also became more confident using project management tools, analysing campaign performance and translating data into actionable insights. Overall, the internship helped me become more proactive, adaptable and confident in a fast-paced, collaborative working environment.

I received an excellent level of support and guidance throughout my internship. From my first day, the team made me feel welcome and took the time to help me understand the business, my responsibilities and how I could contribute effectively. My manager held regular check-ins to provide feedback, answer questions and support my professional development, while encouraging me to take ownership of my work.
Everyone on the team was approachable and willing to offer advice whenever I needed it. I was encouraged to ask questions, share ideas and learn from colleagues across different departments, which created a collaborative and supportive environment. Having such a welcoming team made it much easier to build my confidence, develop new skills and make the most of the placement experience.

Every day brought new challenges and opportunities to learn, which kept the role engaging and enjoyable.
One of the highlights of the internship was the people I worked with. The team was welcoming, supportive and passionate about what they do, creating an environment where I felt comfortable contributing and developing professionally.
