Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I was an academic mentor which involved working with a focus list of six year 11 students on their attendance, behaviour and social emotional mental health. Each student had a 1-1 mentoring session each week which lasted half an hour, targeting each of these areas as well as additional maths support. When I wasn’t doing interventions, I helped out with in-class support, truancy watch and in other departments in the school.
