Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

Over the course of the 2-day insight programme, we were tasked to hold a company to account within a fictional case study which included risk assessment, tax calculations and presenting our findings as group to senior managers. In addition there was a full run down in the organisational culture and values of Deloitte with current employees ranging from graduates to seniors on track to make partner provide their stories and insights on the profession and life at Deloitte.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

Massively eye opening seeing and hearing off of current professionals with vast amounts of experience give their piece on the profession and where its heading and how they proactively deal with constant change in the given industries such as the impacts of AI within the finance sector.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Communication - Getting thrown into a room of 100+ people and being assigned to random groups forces you to effectively communicate.
Teamwork - Linked to communication within the group assignment, you get so many different academic backgrounds and perspectives and you soon find out each others strengths and play to them.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Professional. From the environment, general conversations, and the delivery of presentations, it felt like the very best filled with competence and genuine enthusiasm. Plus very welcoming and encouraging of participation from everyone.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

From the very get go I was fulfilled. Entering the venue felt like James Bond, meeting like-minded people and getting insight into the biggest consultancy firm worldwide was surreal. By the end of the programme I truly felt I left with an invaluable experience leaving me highly satisfied.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte

It's unoriginal but so true, be yourself. Deloitte admire that individuality and character so lean into it, it really worked well for me personally, as I got the privilege to do a recorded response for Deloitte about the programme. So be yourself and get stuck in.
