Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
In my role we have our focus list children who we mentor and help support them in lessons. We also deliver intervention sessions to children to help them with their Literacy and Numeracy. We also had to plan and conduct reading assessments for learners. We were also able to plan and run some fundraising events at our school such as a culture day Photo Booth.

Yes we had a lot of responsibilities in school.

Yes this placement has made me develop many skills such as my confidence, public speaking, thinking on the spot, leadership and communication skills. You have to opportunity to develop all of these skills.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
We had an Impact Officer who would help support us in school and also at our LDD days. We also had a line manager at school who we could go to with concerns about learners. I also had a great team which meant that I always had someone to talk to.

In the beginning you will be a bit nervous and scared but when you get comfortable at school and you form bonds with your students you will feel much more confident.
