Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
A youth mentor working in a secondary school. Providing 1:1 support for students supporting academic and personal progress. Provided in-class support, ran clubs, conducted interventions and conducted assessments.

Yes a lot of day to day responsibility we always had things to do and we were always busy.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed my placement, I gained a lot of experience especially in terms of developing personal skills and went through a lot of challenges that eventually made me stronger. I had a good team who supported me. I made an impact on many learners lives.

What advice would you give to others applying to City Year UK
It’s not what you expect. It requires a lot of work but will eventually will make you stronger in the end. It requires determination and commitment but in the end it is very rewarding knowing you made an impact on children’s lives.
