Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I was a vacation scheme participant and thus was involved in a number of aspects of the firm. I was sat in corporate / m&a in week 1, and banking and finance in week 2, and was involved in tasks such as research and drafting. I also attended talks and caught up with people across the firm.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given good amounts of responsibility, and I got a real feel of how it would be to be a trainee at Macfarlanes. I got to work on some live deals which was interesting.

So much support, had so many contact points and early careers was always there to answer questions. All supervisors and trainees were also just as helpful.

It was perfect; everyone was so friendly and approachable and seemed genuinely invested in my development.
