Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

On the first day we were told how to get into teaching, followed by a debate and then planning a teaching session. On the second day, we taught this lesson, and were also told about Teach First's plans for the future and we met some graduates.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

The charity spent a session explaining how to begin training to be a teacher, which was very clear and well-done. The panel at the end helped this as it gave 3 recent examples of people who had done the training, who could clarify anything we didn't know.

Teach First prioritised our leadership and self-evaluation skills on the course, explaining how different people could be different types of equally effective leaders could be. This is of course vital for teaching.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Everyone was extremely friendly, peers, staff and those who had moved on. Anyone can feel comfortable on this course.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

The whole experience was massively enjoyable, and I have left with much better knowledge about how to start a teaching career and a number of new friends.
