Delivery Recruitment Consultant Review

I am undertaking a placement as a direct delivery recruitment consultant with Randstad, a global leader in the HR services industry and the one of the largest recruitment agencies in the world. On a day to day basis I run a temp desk, within the hard services facilities maintenance direct delivery team, the majority of my vacancies are with 1 primary facilities maintenance client.
I continue to build this desk from scratch and grow it week by week. In order to do this I review databases such as CV library, Total jobs and LinkedIn daily to gather candidates to contact, register and recruit for my roles. I am responsible for the complete process, from the first call to obtain if the candidate is open to new opportunities, to collecting their right to work documents and then checking them in on their first day of new employment.

Following an appropriate length of training I was trusted contacting one of our teams primary clients and began to build my relationship with them. By the end of my placement the managers I was in regular contact with were very complimentary about my work and my impact on the account.

I have developed both my written and verbal communication skills as well as my level of resilience.

I would say generally the support within the team was made available, however if I need to reach out to HR there wasn't a direct line of contact which could be an issue depending on the nature of the problem.

I would say the general atmosphere in the office initially was not inclusive, there was a lot of division between the teams that share the office. However, as the teams began to grow this did improve.

My placement has provided me with the experience I was seeking as well as the finances to support myself throughout my final year at university however I would say that overall my experience was very mixed and at times I questioned my decision to accept the role.
