Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role varied on a day-to-day basis as my placement progressed, I would typically complete tasks I was assigned in the office by my supervisor. This includes tasks related to asset management, planning maintenance works and completing risk assessments. I would also go out on site and attend conferences/ CPD activities.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given a lot of responsibility to completed tasks I was seen as trained and competent to complete. I also had a lot of freedom to organise the teams I worked in and had the ability to seek out opportunities I was interested in.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have learnt a vast majority of skills that have enhanced my engineering knowledge applicable across the rail industry, as well as transferable into other mechanical engineering sectors. I have completed multiple training course which have enhanced my competence and developed my professional development.
