Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Learning about the company by attending talks and doing placements. I have the opportunity to also do jobs outside of my placements, and attend site visits.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given moderate responsibility to organise and event with a £15k budget.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have learnt about professional communication and how to use certain systems used within the company as well as microsoft systems such as Power BI. I learnt how to work in a way that kept myself and others safe . I also learnt a lot about the commercial and corporate side.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I had a very supportive manager, and had the support of the graduates. However a specific mentor, particularly a female mentor may have been useful.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming, and the culture was that of acceptance and consideration. However, women and minority groups remain underrepresented, and the environment can feel somewhat male-dominated.
