Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

during night shift we are developing our skills in the hangers working towards our qualifications. we are doing scheduled maintenance on any different types of Aircraft in the BA fleet.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i really enjoy it, i love how the apprenticeship is structured and i love how hands on we are on actual live aircraft and getting a sense of the job role

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

i have definitely developed my tool handling skills and i have learnt many new skills like lock wiring or how to read a aircraft manual

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

they have got alot of staff to hand for engineer apprentices and also a wide range of skill so that no matter what happens they can always talk to each other to get to a answer for you

How much support do you receive from your employer?

we recieve alot of support from our employers, they have meetings with us, schedule resits if need be and try to hep however and whenever they can you help you grow

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

we receive massive amounts of support, for our apprenticeship we spent 10 months in the Cotswolds and we do all of our exams and basic training then come back to Heathrow to get real hands on experience. They support us all the way through

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

it makes me feel great that at the end i have worked towards a CAT A role within BA then then theres endless possibilities from their within BAs company

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

there are many to choose from, they have got many sporting teams like rugby etc. they host a wide range of networking events where you get see other apprentices and how their apprenticeship works and BA has an excellent social media team

Why?

I feel like BA is the perfect company to work for, you get endless support and they recognise your hard work and you feel very acomplished working for the best Company in my opinion in the UK

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?

just be yourself, there is no point trying to change who you are / how you act as they are trying to get to know the real you and from there the support you receive is endless.
