Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

In my role as a first year audit apprentice, i have had many different types of days, some which were entirely focused on studying for my qualifications and some in busy season which involved many activities such as, admin tasks, testing, doing work papers and additional testing, uploading things to the audit file and documenting, as well as walkthroughs and going through asset listings.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the world of audit and my role at the firm, i have secured a great opportunity and am extremely grateful to be expanding my knowledge, working towards my qualification and being coached by some of the best professionals in the industry.

Every day can look different and you get to learn a variety of different skills, some about the business world as a whole and some more niche like the insurance or baking side of things, you get to work and earn and study all at the same time and it allows you to kickstart your career as soon as and bring in more opportunities earlier, you also meet amazing and supportive colleagues and are constantly looked out for for whatever you need.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
the values of the firm define what they stand for, using these during the application process makes you stand out but also allow you to show you understand the type of people the firm wants as their values align with your own
