I help the wider Engineering team in designing drainage systems, roads networks and preparing a range of reports.
Assisting clients in different stages of their project, from pre-planning all the way to construction.

I started as a fresh out of college student and had no previous industry experience, so everything I have learned has been from here.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

There is a lot of structure and support in place. It’s an extremely close and welcoming company and everyone is always more than happy to support and assist.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots of support. Personally I have had an extremely difficult last few years due to a medical condition, and this has resulted in my situation being quite unpredictable. However, nothing has ever been a problem, and the company have always stood by the fact that my health is what’s most important.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Again, Lots of help. At Portsmouth university, lecturers are always willing to help outside of lessons. With being a degree apprentice, you’re typically only on campus 1 day a week, so it can be difficult to get a face to face meeting, however, lecturers are more than happy to meet on teams
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
