Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work directly under the lead marketer as a team of two. Within my role I help to organise our social media, digital marketing campaigns and events. This includes visiting all of our nurseries to take photos and videos, editing and captioning them for social media. Working with our PR team ahead of press releases, as well as editing and refreshing our website and business pages across Google Business and Day Nurseries. I also help to organise events with local businesses and charities within our community.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Hopscotch has been an absolutely wonderful place to work. The workplace has been welcoming and friendly, and I have learned so much from every person within the office. Partnered with Creative Process I genuinely feel I am learning so much about digital marketing both on and off the job. I have space to learn while gaining feedback about what I am doing well and where I can improve. No question is a waste of time and I feel that my work is truly valued and appreciated!
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Absolutely! I have vastly improved my photography and videography skills, only having a very basic understanding of cameras and editing software before starting my apprenticeship. My time management skills have also improved alongside my understanding of brand communication guidelines and my ability to write in our brand tone of voice. Hopscotch has been the perfect introduction to working within a professional but friendly office environment, which was also new to me.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It's been incredible, what I am learning during my apprenticeship lessons directly correlate to what I am doing within the office. I often feel like I have a head start on new projects as I am using new skills that I just had the opportunity to practice within a learning setting.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is incredibly supportive not just of the time I spend learning but making sure that I never feel overwhelmed by my workload. She ensures that I have all the time I need and that I understand how to apply my learning to my position.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider is excellent as well. They make sure that what I am learning is actually relevant to what my job requires of me. They are available for support wherever and whenever I need it, and are always open to questions and even one to one support when needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My learning supports me in my role 100%. So much of what I am learning about marketing is completely new to me and what I learn in class sets me up for success.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes! We have staff team building events like pizza parties and music bingo. We go on away days and have parties over the holidays. Working at Hopscotch feels like you are a part of a much wider community and the opportunities to develop close working relationships through fun activities and events are plentiful!

Why?
Hopscotch has been simply the best! The environment has been to kind and supportive, all the staff want to see each other succeed and grow and do their absolute best to support that. The job itself has been wonderful, no two days are the same but it is satisfying and rewarding work. It's lovely to work for a company which has your best interests at heart and to feel like both you and the effort you put into your work are really valued.
