Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
A maintenance technician attends to breakdowns on the press lines or in the robot cells and fixes issues that occur. They also carry out routine preventative maintenance checks to ensure that the equipment and machinery continue running smoothly. My role as an apprentice is to shadow them doing their work and also getting involved and eventually doing it myself when i have enough knowledge.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I enjoy my program a lot and i am able to do things that suit my abilities. Being a hands on learner and more practically minded this helps a lot and makes it enjoyable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

4/5
I've learnt many new practical skills and hand skills that have benefitted me throughout my apprenticeship and outside of work. my soft skills have improved with communication being the most developed through working with new teams and communicating issues or findings to appropriate people.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

4/5
It is well structured as we change areas every 3 months to another building to make sure we get enough exposure to all areas and some areas outside of the core job role that we are training into. College learning is also well accommodated outside of our on the job training.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I receive lots of support and if i do have any issues they can be brought up immediately and fixed or advice is given on how to move forward.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
Qualifications are well accommodated and if i have issues at the college they can be brought up with my employer and rectified.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

3/5
My main qualification is helpful in some ways in my apprenticeship but it is dominantly theory based work whereas the job role is mainly practical.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
There are charity and newsletter teams with a new issue coming out every month, and other areas where volunteering is encouraged.
