The Overall Rating is the average of all the ratings given in each category. We take those individual ratings and combine them into one final score!
Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
How much support do you receive from your employer?
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
It has also supported me when working alongside marketing and communications teams, giving me a better understanding of how to align content with wider objectives and maintain a consistent tone and message. Additionally, the skills I’ve developed have helped me collaborate more confidently with colleagues and external partners, including other train operators. Overall, the qualification has been highly relevant to my role and has helped me produce more effective, engaging content while working more collaboratively across teams.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
There are also events such as awards evenings, which help recognise achievements and bring people together across the organisation. Overall, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved beyond day-to-day work, whether that’s for socialising, staying active, or developing professionally.
Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend TransPennine Express to a friend?
Why?
The flexibility provided also supports a good work-life balance, and there is a strong level of support available, both professionally and personally. Overall, it’s a positive environment where you’re encouraged to grow, develop your skills, and be part of a supportive team.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to TransPennine Express?
I’d also recommend being yourself and using examples of any relevant experience, particularly where you’ve worked as part of a team or handled customer interactions. Showing enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and a willingness to get involved will really help you stand out.
Finally, take the time to understand the company’s values and think about how your skills and experiences align with them, as this will strengthen your application.
