Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
They chuck you straight in at the deep end. Giving you tonnes of hands on experience in a professional environment.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
It's very difficult, but incredibly rewarding when you're passing your exams and completing work to a high standard.
The team are very good at encouraging you when juggling both exams and work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed all skills needed to progress in a professional environment. From the basics such as how to send emails out to clients, to more complex things such as how to lead meetings and discussions with experienced personnel.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It's well organised if you manage to keep up and pass all your exams. If you are to fail or defer an exam its not easy to catch-up again due to the intensity of the programme.
It is possible, but it does put you under a lot of pressure.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I have felt supported throughout my apprenticeship. As I have a lot of people I can turn to for help within my cohort. As well as the ECD (Early Careers Development) team we have.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
We had brilliant tutors for all of our exams, as well as having a contact we could reach out to for if we required additional support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Although all the exams I have undertaken aren't all helpful in my line of work. A few are notable helpful in helping with my understanding of the work I am completing.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are multiple social activates held throughout the year at the companies expense.
Social club wise it is limited in Edinburgh.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
Yes
Why?
You learn from the best in the field while gaining professional experience and a qualification you'd still need to undertake even if you did decide to go to uni beforehand.
You're also being paid a fair wage in which you can use to make the most of your days off.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
Be yourself, show off your personality.
Don't be scared to ask questions in the interview, it shows you're invested in the conversation.
