Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Day to day in audit, you typically spend your time planning and carrying out audit procedures by understanding the client’s business and processes, testing controls, and performing substantive testing on financial statement areas such as revenue, expenses, assets and liabilities; this involves analysing data, reviewing supporting documentation, and discussing queries with the client to resolve issues or clarify balances, while also documenting your work clearly in audit files. Alongside this, you’ll attend team catch‑ups, manage deadlines, respond to review comments from seniors or managers, and progressively build responsibility—from basic testing at junior levels to supervising others, exercising judgement on accounting issues, and contributing to audit conclusions as you become more experienced.
