Day to day life as an apprentice heavy vehicle mechanic involves an hour or two of upholding housekeeping before going and helping people complete workshop jobs such as inspections or defect repairs

I have learnt a lot since starting my apprenticeship as I have been given all different things to do on a daily basis which has upgraded my heavy vehicle knowledge

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My program is well organised and focuses a lot on my knowledge of trucks and learning rather then just being a cleaner for the company they value my education and are thinking about my future at the company
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer as they are constantly asking and checking in if I am happy with my apprenticeship and if I have any issues they are happy to help sort it
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider helps me with my apprenticeship as whenever I am at the college everything we do is in preparation for exams and are also trying to get us ready
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel like our training provider helps me perform better in my role through workshop takes and showing me how to do things but also like teaching us things that aren’t always relevant

It is a very good apprenticeship program and they help you along the way to upgrade your knowledge before you qualify and if it is something you love you will truely enjoy it
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to DAF Trucks Ltd?
Make sure to make a good impression and do well she proving urself as you will then be well valued when starting ur apprenticeship as they appreciate hard workers
