Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As a student studying to be a Level 3 Early years educator, my role is to support the practitioners in the room and put the knowledge I have learnt in college into practice. I support children's development through play, thinking about their holistic development. I also support children during meal times, preparing to go outside and tidying up.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
During my placement, I was given some responsibility. As a student under 17 I am not part of ratio numbers, therefore the responsibility I have can be limited. However, the staff were very welcoming and I always felt as though I had a task to do. I frequently did garden checks, supported meal times, etc.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have learnt many new skills during my placement. The staff have given me feedback, including general feedback and also feedback towards specific children and their needs. This has all been very helpful and allowed me to gain a different perspective of knowledge from experienced practitioners. I have also been able to put the knowledge I have gained from college into practice, which has helped me developed confidence and understanding of that.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
The staff have been very helpful, giving me feedback and specific tasks I can do to support the room. This guidance was very helpful as this is my first placement in early years, and I was unsure of the routine. All staff were very supportive and open to giving feedback.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
All staff were very friendly and made me feel welcomed and part of the team. The atmosphere was comfortable, and overall very welcoming.
