Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I have been with LEYF for almost 4 years. I started my apprenticeship in 2025 and attend training sessions every Monday, attending my nursery Tuesday-Friday.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy Monday sessions and this makes my week easier. I am however overwhelmed with my workload at work as well as my apprenticeship work.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I believe I have been refining skills as a teacher and am learning every session. I take note of exciting activities and learning opportunities that I can incorporate into my own nursery. My pedagogical conversations are improving and I am starting to build up in confidence with them.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I feel like it is generally well managed but sometimes communication between different hosts of the sessions can be lacking. I do not feel super prepared for my longitudinal and would have benefited from more dedicated sessions leading up to it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Not a lot - I do not receive any additional help, support or time out at work to focus on my apprenticeship. I am finding it extremely difficult to do my observations and longitudinal study.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

If I ask for help I will receive it and they will do their best to explain on my level what I am misunderstanding or not getting. I know I can approach my tutors with personal issues and that they will be considerate.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It helps me to reflect on best practice and reminds me of what should be done.

Why?
The morals are good and what they stand for. However, it is down to individual nurseries and pre-schools as the differ.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to London Early Years Foundation?
Scout nurseries individually - depends on where you go.
