Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Day to Day I am responsible for Shell 1 problem solving and supporting Shell 2. I am also responsible for supporting production when required. I am in theory the specialist in an area. Maintaining standards and process updates as well as layout changes/VPS.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the work based programme as I have experienced a lot of different things. I have had placements all around the business.
College based not so much as it has been a little poor to be honest with the expectations and the teaching at colleghe.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt lots of new skills to do with my job role such as problem solving, presenting, confidence, time management, IT, admin, applying myself to the situation.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say that the work based in my department is great as it is managed locally.
The problem comes with the communication from College and communication from HR with regards to the structure and what is expected.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I recieve lots of support from both my HR manager and department manager when requested. Left to my own devices in a good way.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Sometimes - not a lot at all. Lots of lessons we have been given the brief and said, off you go, you are higher education. You are capable of doing this without any teaching which is wrong.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It is all theory based and not taught very well so a lot of it I do not feel like I can apply to my role as I feel as if I am being "taught" to write an assignment, not perform my job role and have an understanding in mnaufacturing engineering.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
