Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

4/5
I work in an IT and digital operations role within Rolls‑Royce Motor Cars, focused on supporting and coordinating logistics and production‑critical systems. My role centres on managing and governing change, working across technical teams and business stakeholders, and ensuring systems and processes remain stable, aligned, and fit for operational use.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

3/5
My team and wider department is a lovely place to work and have made my programme way more enjoyable. The course itself is also really engaging, testing my technical capability's on the daily, keeping work challenging but fun. However, my university course is less enjoyable, having had mixed feelings about some of my university lecturers and the course structure.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Change and release management
Stakeholder communication and coordination
SAP and logistics systems understanding
Problem‑solving in operational IT environments
Planning and structured project working

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

3/5
The programme through work is very well organised and structured. However, the structure through university is less so, with the content often feeling unrelated.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
My employer is constantly available for support, having been very quick to respond and help to any issues I have had.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

2/5
Support from the university is very limited, often failing with simple requirements like progress reviews.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

2/5
I feel with most of my modules, the content I am being taught is unrelated on not transferable into the workplace.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

4/5
Yes there are plenty of extra curricular activities, especially with younger years in education, with the chance to get involved in plenty of school events, tours and workshops.
