Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
Childcare, I am basednin a 2 to 3 years old room, where I have to develop activities for the children development, taking care of their health, nutrition, and hygiene, such as teaching them to use the toilet, washing their hands before meals and after using the toilet.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

1/5
My tutor read to me a PDF file and give me case studies, so everything I'm learning is basically through self-study. I'm also not getting the 20% of-the-job training hours, and, as a 40-hour/week employee, I don't have much time to develop my case studies and I'm having to sacrifice my free time (which would be dedicated to my own children) to complete my assignments and studies to finish my course on time.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Through my self oriented studies, I'm learning new things, since my previous field was finance and now I'm in childcare; everything is new.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

1/5
I don't get feedback on my completed case studies frequently; the tutor waits for about 7 months of teaching to begin marking them. Also, regarding my OJT training, I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly because she marks it anyway when more than 100 hours have been completed.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

1/5
Whenever I mention that something isn't right, they say there's nothing that they can do. And I don't even have the proper time to dedicate to my studies.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

1/5
As I said before, I basically do everything myself, and I hardly get any feedback.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

1/5
I would like the time with the tutor to be truly for discussing case studies, and not just for reading a PDF.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
Yes, there are several things that can be done.
