Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

4/5
My role as a level 3 maintenance technician is to rotate around placements in the factory and try to gain a wide understanding of all aspects of the maintenance role. This has involved working in refurbishment, on the maintenance teams on the line, and in maintenance planning. There is a variety of jobs to do on a day to day basis.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

4/5
i enjoy this program as it gives me freedom to grow within my role and always be learning new skills.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
i am consistently learning new skills throughout the apprenticeship due to the diverse workload.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

2/5
it is organised to some extent but there are gaps in the structure of organisation, e.g. communication with mentors, the college, and the apprentices themselves. often times mentors arent even aware they are meant to be having an apprentice and in terms of feedback this isnt given to the apprentices regularly. when it has been given by the managers there have been instances in the past where mentors have denied giving feedback at all to the managers and yet feedback was given to apprentices anyway which has claimed to of "came from mentors".

How much support do you receive from your employer?

3/5
Support is there when asked for it.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

4/5
Monthly meetings are in place to ensure the NVQ is on track.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

4/5
a lot of the techniques/skills are initially taught at college and then further expanded upon during work time and more experience in maintenance tasks.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

4/5
Often organised events being advertised around work and plenty of opportunities to be involved with extra stuff e.g. charity team, football.
