Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role includes attending regular training sessions to help build my knowledge on early years education alongside my practical work at my nursery setting. These training sessions allow me to learn and allows me to understand how to help children develop effectively.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

This programme has been really fun for me as i get to be as outgoing and as creative as i want. The support that is given both at the academy and nursery is very helpful and it allows the apprentices to succeed.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The experiences that i have had has taught me skills such as communication, time keeping, a lot of patience and creativity.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well organised and structured. Training sessions are planned in advance and clearly linked to my apprenticeship goals.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive strong support from my employers and my trainers. The trainers are very approachable, helpful, and give me guidance when needed, which helps me develop my skills.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive excellent support from my training provider. They are always helpful and give guidance to help me understand my coursework and progress through my qualification.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification strongly supports my role. The training I receive helps me understand child development and safeguarding which I am able to apply directly in the nursery to improve my practice.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Training sessions allow us to communicate and discuss with our peers and learn about the different experiences we’ve had. LEYF also does many of extracurricular events.
