Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Role involves supporting children in childcare and providing support and care for all children. My apprentice role allows me to learn and have training every Thursdays to learn and understand the different policies and procedures in LEYF and how to put that into practice everyday.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

4/5
Lovely apprenticeship lovely staff I have met and always helpful in my early years setting.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Yes I’ve learnt so much about safeguarding children and all the different types of attachments children can have with teachers. My new skills I learnt on how to support children and develop an understanding of what it means to work with children.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
Structured very well and overtime it becomes a routine to follow up and can learn a lot of things during a short period of time in this apprenticeship programme.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
A lot of support no matter what even when I might find myself struggling I get support at my most challenging times and I learn from it and end up progressing further.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
A Lot of support and always easy to message whether that’s email or WhatsApp group always reply back and willing to support and help even if I’m struggling with coursework.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
A lot because every Thursdays I have my training I learn new things more and more each day and have a better understanding of these things. That helps me to perform better in my early years settings.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
Yes there are a few professional networking events one which I attended this year and it was about men working in childcare. Was really good to attend to as I learnt about so many different men’s experiences in childcare and their passion for working with children.
