Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the virtual internship and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
In the Deloitte Careers Shapers program, I gained various skills such as communication, and teamwork skills where you be put into groups to complete tasks such as producing presentations about various business situations. This was not only very enjoyable but also gave me a lot of confidence and influenced me to consider a possible apprenticeship at Deloitte. I gained an insight into the culture and workplace of Deloitte by speaking to various employees that specialize in specific fields, and so many questions I had were answered. We were also given very useful information which we can take with us in the future such as information about employability ( how to act in interviews, appearance, manners, etc) or finance. There were many interactive activities making the whole experience very enjoyable.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I gained a lot of information that really gave me an insight into the wide range of opportunities that Deloitte provides as well as the different departments I can get into. As a result, it made me consider a consulting career in the future as it was very inspiring to hear the day-to-day job life of a Deloitte employee in the Q&A sessions.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
In groups, we were divided to produce a presentation so this assessed my presentational skills where any mistakes I had made, I would get feedback. Therefore I learnt ways to improve a presentation in the future which is very valuable and useful to me as it was something that I struggled with before. As a result, I gained a lot of confidence, teamwork skills, and presentation skills.
