Summer Vacation Scheme Intern Review

My day-to-day tasks involved attending team meetings, completing tasks assigned by my team members, and working towards objectives that I set with my People Leader. My tasks really allowed me to gain exposure to a variety of different clients and projects, as well as helping to strengthen my understanding around my service line. Deloitte provides a fantastic opportunity to fully immerse yourself into your chosen service line and as an intern, I was able to help out with work that has real outcomes from the get go. The SVS really gave me a great insight into life at Deloitte and what working in my chosen service line entails.

The SVS really provides a great opportunity to understand Deloitte as a business, and to learn more about your specific role. My colleagues were super friendly and helpful in answering all of my questions around working at Deloitte, and shared their insights and experiences about what the role entails. This gave me a great understanding of what working as my role was like. The range of tasks available to get involved with also provides a great understanding of your chosen role.

I developed my Excel skills through the tasks I was assigned to work on. The SVS also improved my communication skills, as the internship provides ample opportunities to network, talk to your fellow interns and colleagues, and meet new people across the office. I also strengthen my technical skills around my chosen service line, through working on a range of different projects. I became more familiar with the software Deloitte uses too. Deloitte also provides a range of training courses which helped strengthen my interpersonal skills.

Deloitte has a very welcoming, friendly, and inclusive atmosphere. Everybody I met was super lovely and helpful. Everyone was super keen to share their experiences and answer any questions I had. It felt like a very support environment and as an intern you are really made to feel like one of the team from the very first day. You are given real responsibilities and able to contribute to work that has real outcomes. There’s also ample opportunities to network and get to know people from across the office.

I really enjoyed my time at Deloitte. The SVS provided a great insight into my chosen role. From the very first day, I was made to feel a part of the community. Everybody was super lovely and welcoming, and I felt like part of the team. There’s a range of different tasks to get involved with, and the SVS really helps to strengthen your understand of your chosen role. A great experience and fantastic opportunity.
