Overall, how would you describe your experience at Lancashire County Council?
Excellent.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I am the Team Leader for the Central Care Navigation Team, which is responsible for sourcing and maintaining packages of care for adult residents across Lancashire. The service plays a vital role in ensuring people receive the right support to meet their needs.
I enjoy all aspects of my role as a Team Leader, particularly building and sustaining a positive team culture. Leading a committed and high‑performing team gives me a great deal of personal satisfaction, and I am proud of the work my team delivers for our community.
I also value working for Lancashire County Council, knowing that the work we do has a meaningful and positive impact on the lives of Lancashire’s residents.

The LGPS pension scheme is excellent. I could always benefit from more annual leave.

I feel the role is preparing me well for what may come and it will hopefully serve me well for Local Government Reorganisation.

I am learning a great deal in my role and on my apprenticeship with TRS.

My line manager is also my mentor for my apprenticeship and her help and guidance has been invaluable.
How is your work-life balance?

Absolutely fine. We have shift patterns on a rota that if very flexible.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

I find the culture and hybrid working suits my needs. I work mostly from the office but I have the opportunity to work from home if I wish.
