5/5
Loved being back in learning again

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
University have been amazing
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Mostly ok but the project that i was taking to the senior leadership course was scrapped quite early with new management. More individual issues than structural, LCC on a macro level were great
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Been absolutely brilliant all through, so supportive on an individual and cohort level
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
Unlikely that I can use the skills acquired in my present role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
Not really, LCC is very hierarchical in ethos and there are no opportunities within work to develop

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Lancashire County Council to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Depends. Have worked for several Local Authorities and this is the worst so far for ethos, around innovation and efficiency especially. Doesn't appear to be a meritocracy here. Lots of amazing people but stifled by the culture and so would depend on what you want from a career. I came as it's my own community and why I am so disappointed in my experience. I am hopeful that change will come organically but it's unlikely so LGR might be the catalyst
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lancashire County Council?
Try to fit in, don't rock the boat
