Spring Intern Review

Over 3 days, I engaged in various panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions to gain a better insight into working at Deloitte. Our final task was to deliver a video pitch proposing a solution for a client.
Lots of opportunities to ask questions and learn more about working in Technology and at Deloitte.
I collaborated with my group to create a well-researched video pitch proposal for our client. We presented our two-fold solution: 1) 'Joint ventures and strategic alliances' and 2) 'Full digital evolution', while also explaining which service lines we recommended. This was after considering market trends, the client's brand and mission. We had to ensure we were concise but provided adequate detail to stick to the 3 minute time limit.

I found it to be a really valuable experience as you can only understand so much from the website and it can be a little bit difficult to pick up on nuances and specific details just from reading what's available. Participating in this event gave me a deeper insight into how Deloitte's values come into play in the work they do.
Throughout the event, we were told about our potential future career paths with Deloitte and how Deloitte are always supportive when it comes to upskilling the employees and giving back to the community.

Yes! I feel that I developed networking skills as there was plenty of chances to network with my peers and also professionals working in the industry. There were Q+A sessions where we could ask anything we wanted to know more about. Our tasks meant we had to work within a team, collaborate and communicate successfully to deliver what we were asked of. We had to combine research and presentation skills for our final project which was a video pitch.

Really inclusive and supportive. I got a strong sense of camaraderie from everyone. It was a super wholesome environment. It didn't seem cut throat or anything like that - I could see how there was a focus on a keenness and eagerness to learn over knowing absolutely everything technical there is to know. There were presentations on diversity and inclusivity as well as self confidence; these solidified for me that Deloitte cares about its people.

I quite enjoyed the insight. I felt that it was well organised as we were sent information about our task by short digestible emails so it helped keep us focused and on task. There was a good variety of activities for us to do including more passive ones where we learnt about the company and the culture and more active ones where we had a chance to work with each other and collaborate to test our understanding of what the firm does.
