Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I primarily support digital transformation, data reporting, and process improvement activities across the supply chain, with a strong focus on environmental and compliance-related reporting
Data analysis and reporting:
On a day-to-day basis, I work with large datasets relating to supply chain operations and environmental performance. This includes cleaning, validating, and analysing site-level data (such as energy, water, and waste metrics) to ensure it is accurate, consistent, and ready for reporting. I use tools such as Excel, SharePoint, Power Apps, and Python to support data reconciliation and insight generation
Digital tools and automation:
A key part of my role is supporting digital solutions within Supply Chain and SHE (Safety, Health and Environment). I contribute to the development and maintenance of Power Apps and automated workflows that replace manual processes, improve data quality, and reduce administrative effort for global teams. This includes taking part in regular work sessions focused on site setup and digital reporting tools
Stakeholder management and collaboration:
I regularly collaborate with colleagues across different functions, regions, and time zones. This involves attending recurring team meetings and stand-ups, discussing data issues, agreeing actions, and supporting colleagues with system or reporting queries. Effective communication is essential, as I often act as a link between technical data work and non-technical stakeholders
Governance, compliance, and continuous improvement:
My role also supports compliance and governance activities by ensuring that reported data aligns with internal standards and external requirements. I help identify gaps, inconsistencies, or risks in processes and propose improvements to strengthen reliability and transparency in reporting
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my programme to a large extent because it combines academic learning with real workplace experience. Applying university knowledge directly to my role at Unilever makes the learning relevant and engaging. I especially value the hands-on nature of the programme, working with real data, systems, and business challenges, which has strengthened my technical and professional skills. The variety between supply chain work, digital projects, and university study keeps the programme interesting. While balancing work and academic deadlines can be challenging, it has improved my organisation, resilience, and time management. Overall, I find the programme demanding but highly rewarding and well aligned with my long-term career goals.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed both new and existing skills during my programme. I have strengthened my technical skills in data analysis, digital tools, and reporting, particularly through working with real business datasets and systems. I have also improved transferable skills such as communication, stakeholder engagement, and time management. Balancing academic study with full-time work has increased my confidence, organisation, and ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a professional team.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is well organised and clearly structured, with a defined balance between work-based learning and academic study. My working week follows consistent routines supported by regular planning meetings, such as the weekly Stand-Ups, which helps prioritise tasks and track progress. Dedicated university study days and scheduled lectures provide structure on the academic side, allowing me to plan coursework alongside business responsibilities. While the workload can be demanding at times, the clear scheduling and regular touchpoints make the programme manageable and effective
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a high level of support from my employer throughout the programme. I have regular contact with my manager and wider team through structured meetings, including the weekly SHE Digital & Reporting – Planning Stand‑Up, which helps with prioritisation and guidance. I am also supported with dedicated time for university study through scheduled study days and flexibility around academic deadlines. This support enables me to balance work and learning effectively while continuing to develop professionally.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a good level of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications. This includes structured lectures, clear assessment guidance, and access to tutors for academic support. Dedicated study days allow me to focus on learning, and feedback helps me understand expectations and improve my work throughout the programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification supports my role very well, as the content directly links to the tasks I complete at work. University learning strengthens my understanding of data, digital tools, and analytical thinking, which I apply to real supply chain and reporting challenges. This connection improves my effectiveness, confidence, and problem‑solving ability in my day‑to‑day role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
es, there are extra‑curricular activities available at work. These include professional networking and engagement events such as the National Apprenticeship Week: Networking Lunch and Results Call Viewing, which provides opportunities to connect with other apprentices and colleagues across the business. There are also informal team connection sessions , supporting collaboration and social interaction beyond day‑to‑day work.
